The Adorable Hearts Foundation in collaboration with the Seedspark Foundation has organised the 2026 edition of its annual Love on the Street outreach to support vulnerable people living on the streets as part of Valentine’s Day celebrations.
The exercse, held on February 14, 2026, saw members of the foundations, volunteers and partner organisations distribute food, water, clothing, books and pastries to street children and adults in parts of Kumasi and Accra.
Founder and Lead Coordinator of the Adorable Hearts Foundation, Sabina Baaba Berko, said the initiative was created to extend love to people who are often forgotten during festive occasions.
“Love on the Street is more than just an outreach. It is our way of making love practical and visible to people who are often overlooked. We provide food, care packages and encouragement to remind them that they are seen, valued and not forgotten,” she said.
She explained that the project, which began in 2020 as a small gesture, has now grown into a movement attracting more volunteers and partners each year.
“What started as a simple act of kindness has grown into something bigger than we imagined. Each year, more people join us, and the impact continues to increase,” she said.
Miss Berko noted that this year’s outreach targeted about 350 beneficiaries across Kumasi and Accra, covering areas such as Amakom, Asokwa, the Kumasi City Mall, Accra New Town, Nima, Adabraka and areas around the Accra Mall. She said her motivation is driven by empathy and the desire to make a difference. However, she identified funding and logistics as major challenges and appealed for support.
“Our goal is not just about numbers. It is about creating meaningful moments and restoring dignity to every individual we encounter. We are appealing to corporate organisations and individuals to support us so we can expand this initiative and reach more people in need,” she said.
Director of the Seedspark Foundation, Henry Ekow Yawson said the organisation partnered the initiative because it aligns with its mission.
“As long as it has to do with humanity and supporting vulnerable children and families, we believe we have a responsibility to contribute,” he said.
A representative of the Adorable Hearts Foundation, Abena Adutwumwaa Ackah, said the outreach was meant to bring hope to beneficiaries.
“Valentine’s Day means different things to different people, but for us, it is about remembering those on the streets and putting smiles on their faces,” she said.
A volunteer, Nero Novor, said he joined the exercise out of his desire to give back to society.
“Giving back to the community is something we all must do. This is one way we can show love to people who are struggling,” he said.
Also supporting the exercise was the Oheneba Care Foundation.
Its Executive Director, Ebenezer Oheneba-Abrapong, said:
“We joined this outreach to help spread love and support vulnerable people in our communities.”
One of the beneficiaries, Ramzy Ganyo, expressed gratitude to the organisers.
“I am very happy for what they have done for us today. I hope they continue to organise this programme every month to support us,” he said.
The organisers noted that although the initiative has been sustained through donations over the years, increased support would help expand the programme and reach more vulnerable people in future.
