Teen girl who went missing on Val’s Day found dead near stream in Eastern region

A 16-year-old girl, identified as Deborah Dede Ama, who went missing on Valentine’s Day, has been found dead in a stream at Tinkong in the Eastern Region.

Deborah reportedly left home on the evening of February 14 to attend a Valentine’s Day party in the Tinkong township while her mother was away.

However, she never returned home, raising concerns among family members.

The lifeless body of Deborah Ama Dede was discovered on Tuesday in a stream near their house.

According to a family member, Kofi Sammy, the body was found naked and already decomposing, with visible marks suggesting possible foul play.

Residents suspect the teenager may have been sexually assaulted before being killed by unknown assailants.

Police from Adawso retrieved the body from the scene and conveyed it to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy as investigations commence.

The mother of the deceased was inconsolable upon receiving the heartbreaking news.

Family members and sympathizers who gathered at the residence on Wednesday expressed shock and grief over the gruesome killing.

Assembly Member for Tinkong, Samuel Abochie, described the incident as devastating and called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
