Unreligious Servants marks fourth anniversary with charity donation to Chosen Rehabilitation Centre

The creative group Unreligious Servants has marked its fourth anniversary with the official launch of its debut album, First Service, alongside a charitable donation to the Chosen Rehabilitation Centre.

The group’s Deputy Director, Kwesi Brenya Baah, said the initiative forms part of its commitment to using creative talents to spread the Christian message and contribute to society.

Speaking during the anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 31, he explained that Unreligious Servants was established four years ago by individuals from different creative fields, including music, photography and design, who shared a common desire to give back to society.

He said members had committed their creative works and intellectual property rights to the group, ensuring that all proceeds generated from its projects, including the newly launched album, would go entirely towards charitable activities.

Mr Brenya Baah explained that the name Unreligious Servants was inspired by the desire to distinguish the group through its actions rather than religious labels.

He stressed that the group was not anti-religious but was made up of Christians seeking to demonstrate their faith through service, compassion and practical contributions to society.

As part of the anniversary activities, the group returned to Chosen Rehabilitation Centre, which was the first institution it supported when it began its charitable work, to worship and interact with residents and donate essential supplies.

The items presented included bags of rice, beans, gari, cooking oil, palm oil, spaghetti and tissue paper, among other provisions, to support the centre’s upkeep.

According to him, the group’s previous visit had inspired members to do more after witnessing the impact of their intervention, prompting them to return on the occasion of their fourth anniversary.

He commended Chosen for its rehabilitation efforts, particularly its faith-based approach, which combines the teachings of the Bible with practical support to help individuals overcome their challenges and rebuild their lives.

He noted that the centre also provides skills-development opportunities and facilities, including a recording studio and a computer laboratory, to equip residents with relevant skills and improve their chances of reintegrating into society.

Mr Brenya Baah appealed to individuals and organisations to support the centre, which he said accommodates approximately 120 to 130 people and is doing important work in rehabilitating vulnerable individuals.

He said the group’s anniversary celebration was not only an opportunity to reflect on its four-year journey but also to renew its commitment to using creativity, faith and collective action to make a meaningful difference in society.
